Your treatment journey

Having any cosmetic treatment, especially to your face is a very personal and bespoke experience. It is for this reason I wanted to personally write the steps in your patient journey with me, Sunah Mirza.

01. INITIAL CONSULTATION

The first appointment is a consultation that can either be booked as a face to face or online appointment for your convenience.  This will be a detailed consultation where I will have the opportunity to listen to you and understand what desired outcomes you wish to achieve. I try to keep an open mind and understand that trends do vary, and that ideal beauty standards are dependent on ethnic variation, facial shape, gender identity and patient request.

I will share my medical expertise with you and advise accordingly. As well as running through the procedure itself, I discuss what products I use, what to expect, and any potential side effects or complications that can arise.

I post a lot of my work via instagram so that is a great way to see some before and after photos.

This initial consultation is a chance for you to meet me and a great way to establish if you feel comfortable having the treatment with myself.

If you are happy to proceed with treatment, our Treatment Coordinator will be in touch to arrange the next steps.  Our treatment Coordinator will be with you every step of the way to organize and guide you through your journey, taking the stress and hassle away for you.

02. TREATMENT APPOINTMENT 

This is a face to face appointment. This second appointment will have allowed you time to reflect on the information previously given and also gives you another opportunity to ask any questions before treatment.

It is natural to be quite nervous before treatment. If nervous on the treatment day I always advise my patients to have a little bit of food; certainly, don’t skip a meal as this may increase chances of fainting.

I will usually mark up the face where I will be injecting and then take some pre-operative photo’s for medical record purposes.

Then its time for numbing! As a dental surgeon I provide local anesthesia routinely on a daily basis and have a unique and detailed understanding of facial anatomy as well as safe and painless injection techniques. I usualIy give my clients the options of having topical cream based anesthesia or local anaesthetic injections.

If you have a sensitivity to adrenaline, then it is important to let us know in advance via your medical history form that will be sent to you before the appoinment.

Treatment is carried out once you are numb. Treatment time is relatively quick. I always like to involve my patient’s when undertaking any treatment and will provide them with a mirror so they can see my work in stages and give me their input in real time.

03. WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT

During the first few hours you will typically feel a little numb and very swollen due to the effects of the anesthesia (think of the last time you had a dental filing and what your face felt like straight after).

Mild to moderate swelling is expected to last around 24 to 48 hours. The more injections administered the more swelling you will likely experience. Bruising can occur with any injection no matter how experienced the injector is and this can take up to 2 weeks to resolve. It will take approximately 2 weeks to see the final healed results of the clinical procedure

04. GENERAL AFTERCARE

The effects of the anesthesia cause numbness. Therefore, it’s important to avoid very hot or cold food and drinks and to be careful not to bite your lips after the treatment until the effects have worn off. A patient information pack with a more detailed description on aftercare will be provided to you by our treatment coordinator. 

Not every client will need a review appointment but if one is needed then I will schedule one in. This is included as part of your ongoing care and there is no additional fee to be paidI also provide my direct email information so if there are any concerns, you will be able to get in touch with me directly, at any time even if its just for reassurance. This includes after hours on weekdays and during weekends. My promise to my clients is that my duty of care doesn’t stop when you leave the clinic.

Once we’ve achieved your desired results, it is important to be aware that maintenance is required.
