GENERAL

What is the cancellation policy?
We kindly ask that if you wish to cancel or reschedule your appointment, that you provide us at least 48 hours’ notice. Please note it is the client’s responsibility to confirm the appointment has been cancelled/rescheduled by contacting the clinic to notify them and then waiting for receipt of this confirmation via an email notification. We will not accept patients calling and leaving voicemails or emails as a way of cancelling. Any deposits paid for consultations will be forfeited if 48 hours’ notice has not been provided.

Is a deposit required for booking an appointment?
A deposit of £50 is required to secure an appointment for the initial consultation at the time of booking. The deposits are non-refundable as our practitioners provide you with a thorough consultation, assessment and treatment plan but are fully redeemable towards any treatment booked.

How much does treatment cost?
The price of treatment will vary depending on what treatment is being carried out and the quantity of product being used. Please see prices . Please note it’s important to be individually assessed for an exact treatment quote, as product quantity will vary from person to person. All treatments should be paid for in full prior to starting the treatment. This is the policy of Clinic Four Limited.
How do I book an appointment? and when can I book?

How do I contact the clinic?
The fastest way to contact the clinic with an enquiry is via email or enquiry form . Phone lines are open daily Monday-Friday, 9-5pm but our staff may not be able to get to the phone during peak hours. If you would prefer a call back, please mention this in your email and a member of our team will gladly call you back. Please do not send your enquiries via social media apps as these portals are not monitored daily.
Will the procedure hurt?
This is subjective and is dependent upon:
1) each person's pain threshold
2) technique used
3) practitioner experience
4) anaesthetic used

At Clinic Four every practitioner is an experienced injector and we pride ourselves in our gentle approach during treatments. If you are anxious and think you may not be able to tolerate the procedure, we suggest you discuss having a local anesthetic before treatment with your practitioner.
Are there any risks to treatments?
No treatment is without risk. A detailed patient guide will be given to you at your initial assessment, listing all potential risks. These include but are not limited to pain, bruising, swelling and even infection at the injection sites. If you are prone to cold sores, treatment may bring out another eruption. If you are pregnant or breast feeding, treatment is not recommended. please note, every practitioner at Clinic Four is fully insured and qualified to carry out all procedures.
Down time
All treatments have the risk of bruising and swelling. We take all the necessary steps to minimize this, but despite this, no practitioner can guarantee against such. Most people swell after filler treatment a little more the morning following treatment, but it quickly subsides and the vast majority of patients report puffiness only for about 24-48 hours. Lip filler treatments however can stay swollen for up to 2 weeks post operatively. How you react to the injections is often down to the individual. If you are prone to bruising, it would logically follow that your chances of doing so after this procedure, are elevated.
I'm scared of pain. What pain management options do you offer?
Anesthesia is a way to numb the area being injected so that you don't have any pain during the treatment. We provide 2 types of anesthetic solutions.

1. Topical anaesthetic: Topical creams like EMLA can be applied to the face and will provide a little anaesthesia. However, it needs to be left on for at least 30 minutes prior to the procedure.
2. Local anesthetic: For a more profound anaesthetic effect, a local anaesthetic, like that undertaken at the dentist, can be administered.
Prepayments for booking in treatment
Payment is taken in full before the start of treatment. The first half is taken at the time of booking the treatment appointment and the second half is taken prior to starting treatment. This is because products are prescription based for each client. The clinic accepts cash, or major debit and credit cards. Anti-wrinkle injections

How long do anti-wrinkle injections last?
Weakening of the injected muscles begins to be apparent after 2-3 days with the peak effect being reached after 10-14 days. Results can last 3-6 months. The procedure can be repeated after 3 months; however, injections given less than 3 month intervals may reduce the efficacy of the injections.

The duration of effect varies greatly from person to person. It is dependent on many factors such as dosage used, how often you come back for maintenance tops ups as well as physiological and environmental factors. For example if you exercise a lot or use saunas/steam rooms, this may break down the effects of the injections faster than someone that doesn't do the above.

FILLER

I’m worried about my lips looking too big.
Lips usually swell to their largest size during the initial 48 hours. But they need a full 2 weeks before they are fully settled so it's important not to have any important social engagements or events to go to during that time. ​

At Clinic Four you will be assessed and offered a filler that is matched to your skin type whilst also considering the look you as a client are requesting. We believe in natural, subtle looking enhancements and will never overfill lips that can often look unnatural and fake.
I’ve heard of lips being treated with cannulas. What are they and do they help reduce discomfort?
Cannulas, or micro cannulas are essentially blunt ended needles. They have an extrusion hole on the side of the tip rather than at the tip. This allows the very end to be rounded allowing access in treatment areas that potentially are more at risk of complications. They also reduce the risk of bleeding and bruising as they don't have a sharp tip like needles do. This also reduces the overall discomfort as there are no sharp poking motions that needles are known to produce.

​ At Clinic Four we routinely use cannulas for filler treatment although in a few instances we may use fine needles for certain areas where precision is needed. ​
What products are used for lips and is there a difference?
There are hundreds of products on the market these days. Each range has specific indications and their own unique properties. Whats most important is the safety and how well it breaks down in the case of an emergency/complication. Other factors we look at when purchasing products is how much long term scientific data is available about the product, how long it lasts for and is it CE certified and FDA approved. ​

Using a safe and well tested product often means the cost price of the product and hence the treatment may be more expensive than other less safe or unstable fillers available on the market. Revolax is an example of a cheaper more generic product, lots of practitioners use to offer cheaper treatments. At Clinic Four we use more premium products such as Aliaxin, Teosyl and MaiLi. There is little difference between premium quality products. The results however are almost entirely based on the skill of the practitioner performing the treatment.
How long should I wait between appointments for more filler?
If further treatment is planned to increase volume over a staged approach then this should be performed no sooner than four weeks later to give the face adequate time to settle. The same time is required/recommended if you are having some filler dissolved and then re-filled.
How long does filler last?
The duration of effect varies greatly from person to person. Most lip filler treatments typically last around 6-12 months, whereas facial fillers can last 12-18 months dependent on what filler is used, how often you come back for maintenance tops ups as well as physiological and environmental factors.
What if I don’t like the look?
During the first 2 weeks you will most likely not like the look of your lips due to the swelling. Don't panic! This is totally normal and to be expected. Small lumps and bumps may also be noticeable, and are easy to massage away and often will reduce themselves.

​ In the unlikely event you are unhappy with the treatment, the filler product can be dissolved away. However, this is usually a last resort. We aim to first resolve the root cause of the problem which most often can be resolved simply and less invasively.
Could I have an allergic reaction to fillers?
Most fillers are based on hyaluronic acid (HA), which is the body’s own natural skin plumper and so has an almost impossible risk of an allergic reaction. The products used at Clinic Four are non-animal sourced, sterile, and have an exceptional safety profile. At your initial consultation, a detailed medical history will be taken and any potential risks identified will be discussed with you in detail before any treatment is carried out. All treatments are strictly carried out by Medically trained professionals only.
